Ernesto Catena Vineyards, Gran Siesta en el Tahuantinsuyu 2011 (3 Litre)

$297.00

100% Malbec

Deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it is very expressive and intense. Strawberries, cherries and quince are the fruit aromas that stand out the most, blending with notes of vanilla, toasted wood and subtle notes of spices. Its mouth is full, with very pleasant and soft tannins. It has a consistent, fruity mid-palate with some mineral notes. With an elegant body and good structure, it ends with a persistent and long finish in the mouth.

Ernesto Catena is a fourth-generation winemaker and the eldest son of Nicolas Catena. Ernesto grew up in the world of wine in Mendoza and his father Nicolas was a pioneer of the Argentina wine revolution. Ernesto felt the need to produce his own wines to reflect his fundamental beliefs in quality, creativity, small volumes and wine as a strong narrative. Most grapes (including all the Siesta wines) come from his 178-acre vineyard in the Uco Valley’s Vista Flores. Planted in 2002 and certified organic in 2011 and biodynamic in 2012.'
