Hughes & Hughes Barrel Ferment Riesling 2019


Fruit from a single vineyard in the Coal River Valley, picked at 12.5 baume, soaked on skins for 24 hours and fermented in seasoned barrels with natural yeast. Half underwent malolactic ferment while maturing on lees. Bottled unfined and filtered.

Tasting Notes

Still displaying typical riesling aromatics but with a layer of savoury. The palate has an unctuous edge but the acidity prevails at the finish.
