A blend of the three pinot noir vineyards I now work with. A fruitier, earlier drinking style bottled with a light spritz (20ppm SO2 as fruit but none thereafter or at bottling). Greater than the sum of its parts, this is a great early snapshot of the promise of my 2017 single vineyard pinot noirs. Doug’s Vineyard contributing the core, pure red fruits, red rose, turned earth and spice, Straws Lane delicate strawberry and pepper spice, and a brittleness (this site is at 800m ASL on the North face of Mount Macedon), Ray-Monde, violet, flint and black cherry (30 year old vines on the Southern edge of the Macedon GI planted on incredibly shallow alluvial clay/silts over solid “bluestone” basalt bedrock). – Joshua Cooper
Extremely enjoyable lightly chilled.
