Dan Standish, makes some of the best Shiraz coming out of the Barossa Valley. This Lamella Shiraz comes from Eden Valley, with the grapes sourced from some seriously ancestral vines in the Stonegarden Vineyard, planted in 1858. If you love Hill of Grace or want to try something similar, but don’t want to spend $1000 on a bottle, then this is your wine! Lots of dark plums, blackcurrants, blackberry, black pepper, lots of spice, fresh herbs, grilled and cured meats, earthy, and matched with lifted florals. Concentrated Shiraz that’s big in body and tannins but has great balance, ending in a wonderfully long finish. Something to share with some good friends over great conversation. This wine is stunner, and will live for a long time!
