Xerico is an ode to the wines that Roberto’s (the current custodian) ancestors drank – Rioja without oak maturation. In place of the oak is cement and chestnut foudres. The other connection with the past is that the wine contains 20% of the white grape Viura whilst the remainder is Tempranillo. Profile of dark spice, meatiness, mocha, dark plum, violets, dark cherry, soft cheese, blackcurrant, rosemary and basil. Modern Tempranillo with medium body and firm tannins.
