Adeline Houillon & Renaud Bruyère, Arbois Croix-Rouge 2016
''The parcel La Croix Rouge is 1.1 Ha and planted with Chardonnay vines that are approximately 30 years old. It’s clay and limestone with a north-west exposure at about 380m. The vinification is the same as les Tourillons but this terroir generally results in wines which are give immediate pleasure with plenty of fruit balanced by beautiful acidity. This particular vintage is very typical of the Jura, more so than the richer 2015, with plenty of freshness and tension. It was bottled in September 2018. When we tasted it with Renaud and Adeline last April Renaud said they had just done an experiment with a bottle from this vintage drinking it over one week. During that time there was no oxidation and the wine became more open. We’re not sure we’re patient enough with the few bottles we will drink ourselves to find out if that’s the case!'
