Chévre Wines, Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2017
Jordy Kay, scored a parcel of Sauvignon Blanc from Gary Mills from Jamesheed Vineyard in 2017. Jordy has previously worked under Gary and was excited to get his hands on parcel of the fruit, which was just enough for 1 barrel. The Jamsheed Vineyard is farmed organically by Gary Mills and Rhen Dodd in the heart of the Yarra Valley.
The Sauvignon Blanc is grown on red clay and bluestone. It spent one week on skins, foot stomped daily and after pressing was transferred to old wood where it sat for a year. Lovely natural/organic take on a Fumé Blanc. Small batch wine, and most likely a one off.
