Dirty Black Denim Wines Sangiovese Novello 2017
A delicious, drink now Sangiovese style!
'As always, sourced from Galli Estate in Heathcote. Picked early, 3 days on skins then pressed into old wood. 1 year on light lees. Zero S02 and zero adds.
In the past, we've been among to make fun, light, vin du soif. But in 2017 we worked the skins a bit more in order to grab a bit more tannin and add structure. As a result, the colour is a bit darker as is the fruit profile'

'Fragrant wine, loaded with red cherry, cranberry, white pepper, strong green herb/mescal scents. Slurpy texture, glossy, has a feel almost reminiscent of bouillon, though the flavours are of course in red fruit spectrum, though you’ll see beetroot and more pepper/green herbs and the vibe is almost tonic-like in a way too – an oddity, but appealing. There’s a slight walnut husk and ferrous smudge to finish, which raises my eyebrows, but feels transient, especially when this wine is consumed at appropriate cool temperature. Fun thing this, full of spunk and zest. Cool booze.'
