”There is a deft application of wood influence to the slightly riper floral, white pepper, citrus confit and quinine-scented nose. The delicious middle weight flavors are rich to the point of opulence while flashing good power on the lingering if slightly warm finish. I usually prefer the Guy Moreau to the regular cuvée of Vaillons but there is better vibrancy and overall balance in the latter. 91/2024+”, December 2020
”The 2018 Chablis Vaillon 1er Cru Cuvée Guy Moreau has a very delineated, stony bouquet showing fleeting glimpses of yellow plum and hazelnut. Very classy. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and focused; that nuttiness, allied with a touch of smokiness, returns on the finish. Excellent.” 92 points, Neal Martin, Vinous Media, September 2020.
”A plot planted in 1933 by the late Guy Moreau, this has a finer edge and a more chalky, reserved feel than the regular bottling of Vaillons. The palate has a glossy and gently pithy feel and a fuller finish. Drink on release.” (91-92) points, Nick Stock,, August 2019.
