Eldorado Road Comrade Nero d’Avola 2017
'It’s a tiny vineyard but this wine took ten different ferments across 100% whole bunch, 40% whole bunch, whole berry early pick, whole berry late pick, extended maceration and judgements in-between. Eldorado Road is nothing if not a labour of love.
Personally I think this wine is terrific. It’s red-fruited, elegant, seamless for the most part but complex around the seams. You have to go looking for its more intricate areas, but they are there; it doesn’t smack you about the ears. It’s a sophisticated red wine, but a highly drinkable one. It’s a wine worth holding up and celebrating.'
