100% Castelão, Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and minimalist intervention, maceration during 25 days, being the only external factor to the production, the sulphur in the bottling stage of 18 Months in used French oak barrels of 500 Lts. Ruby red. Blackberry, plums and dark chocolate. Medium to full body. Concentrated fruit with well-balanced tannins. Nice complexity and good finish. Castelão is a short cycle varietal, with soft tannins very open colour like other more oxidative varietals like Gamay and Grenache, when planted in the Douro Valley the resulting wine shows a good presence of tannins.
