Michel Gahier Arbois Chardonnay Les Follasses B 2015
Though labelled Chardonnay, the actual grape use to make this wine is Melon à Queue Rouge. It is a rare and unique Chardonnay variant found in Jura France, mainly in Arbois. Unlike, the true Chardonnay grape, it has a red stem, and rosy and grey coloured grape clusters.
Wine is slightly cloudy in the glass, with lots of lemon zest, apples, juicy nectarines, light sea spray notes, white cherries, slight cola notes, white pepper, white floral notes, minerality, zesty acidity and hints of oxidisation. If you love Chardonnay and want something a little different this will be a fun wine to try and it will have you going back for more.
