Muhr-Van Der Niepoort Liebkind 2013 (Blaufrankisch)
Blaufrankisch from Carnuntum in Austria. A lesser known Austrian wine region that is making leaps and bounds for the quality of their wines. Cedar forest, cherry wood, minerality, smokiness, white pepper, fresh blueberry and red cherry notes. On the palate, this is taut and tightly coiled. Fresh berries and cherries are still packed away beneath a layer of tart freshness, blinking through alluringly beneath the peppery spice. This is intriguing now but will continue to age gracefully. Its firm structure and innate freshness signal real ageing potential. Fantastic with roast pork.
