Pierre Cotton Vin de France Gamay 2019
Young vines on rocky alluvial soil, a relatively flat vineyard at the bottom of the slope. Slippery, delicious gamay !
The Vin de France Gamay is a blend of declassified grapes from the domaine's Beaujolais and Brouilly vineyards that don't quite match the quality for their eponymous cuvées, as well as some free run juice from the carbonic maceration of other cuvées. This wine was originally named 'Ygueule' (pronounced EE-gull), a confusing natural wine pun that nobody understood, so they changed the name to simple Vin de France Gamay.
