Ravensworth Hilltops Barbera 2018
'I always like to say that Australia should do its own thing with notable Italian varieties, but here’s one that could switch out for anything great and Italian. Kudos, Brianno Martino.
Sour cherry writ large, anise, wild mint, fennel, garrigue. All happening here. Tart and tangy acidity the major player to cherry juice and cranberry freshness. A lot of hustle in the palate, light tannins, insane freshness, great drinkability. It’s a pitch perfect example of ‘barbera’. Find pizza, chill bottle a little, drink from water glasses.'
