Two Tonne Tasmania EST Pinot Noir 2018


'From an east coast Tasmania vineyard at the town of Bicheno, more or less. Pretty close to the ocean. I am enjoying these sub-regional excursions from a few producers in Tasmania, using the filter of pinot noir. A bunch of different ferments combine here too.

Attractive perfume of red cherry, floral rose petal things, faint Earl Grey tea scents, maybe lavender. Lovely. The palate is juicy but cut with a swish of blood orange acidity and licks of pumice-like tannin. Feels a little transparent in flavour but the texture elevates the wine – the tannin is your friend. Delicacy with a firm grip, let’s say. I like it.'
