'This glorious pet-nat made by Vincent Careme from 100% Chenin Blanc is a serious wine. Grown in Vouvray, the complex soil is clay and flint with a sub-soil of limestone, one the world’s great places for growing Chenin Blanc. The vines are 40 years old.
The wine is disgorged and is well-suited to pouring. The Carêmes’ description is “Nose has hint of toastiness and white fruits. Delicate, creamy mousse. Long, lingering finish”.
It is completely dry with just 2 g/l of residual sugar. If you are familiar with Carême labelling on their scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is dry and 5 is sweet, it is 1.5. Certified organic.
