Terre de l'Elu 'Marco Polo' Groulleau 2024

Grolleau is a Loire native that’s become increasingly rare and is more commonly used in rosé or lighter, refreshing bistro-style reds like this one. From western Loire vineyards on sandstone soils, Charlotte and Thomas have crafted a wine that is fragrant with red berries, violet and a hint of spice. The palate is juicy and medium-bodied with soft tannins, lively acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. A fresh, elegant example with a delicate colour, best enjoyed with a subtle chill.

Vinification: Grapes are harvested by hand and whole bunch fermentation gets underway using indigenous yeast. The wine is pressed and left to rest for a short time in stainless steel vats prior to bottling.

Match it with: Charcuterie and hard cheeses or a Margherita pizza!
