View full detailsA petite wine region in France, Beaujolais is known for its light-bodied reds and as an affordable alternative option to the wines from the popular Burgundy region just north of Beaujolais. Moreish Wines have curated a selection of delectable Beaujolais wines that you can buy online with delivery throughout Australia.
Made primarily from Gamay grapes, Beaujolais wines are similar to pinot noir with dominant flavours of red berries such as raspberries, cherries, red currants and cranberries. Only 1% of wines from this region are whites, using mostly chardonnay grapes. One of the most exciting regions in France, as Gamay is having quite the renaissance after many years of terribly made Beaujolais Nouveau (drink now) wines that were made quickly and massed produced as cheap table wine that tasted like bubble gum, asparagus, and banana lollies. Thankfully that has changed, and many producers are making wonderful wines that are extremely enjoyable now but will also age gracefully. These wines show the full potential of Gamay and highlight why it is one of the most versatile varieties on the planet. These wines pair so well with all types of food and are great to drink all year round. Wines from Beaujolais are truly moreish and a joy to drink.
