'On the nose violets, lavender, spice and pepper meet with dark plum and blue fruits, ground coffee and earth. On the palate it’s refreshing and mineral with ferrous ironstone. Again, the nose carries through to the palate. Savoury and structural with a pleasingly refreshing finish.
Winemaking
The fruit is handpicked and 30% whole bunched pressed and vinified. A minimal amount of sulfur is added and left in large format and seasoned barrels for a total of 10 months.
Vineyard
A blend of two vineyards from Heathcote both on east-facing slopes at 300m above sea level, from Mt. Ida and pt 23 clones of shiraz.
