Tasting notes: 2024 release

Dark plum and berry fruit are accompanied by smoky, meaty and savoury characters. A silky, medium-bodied palate carries gentle spice, with barbecue and baking-spice nuances through the finish.

Vineyard and winemaking: 2024 release

The winery describes Hunter's Shiraz as drawing on low-yielding old vineyards and the differing fruit and tannin characteristics of its sites. A published review of the 2024 records two vineyard sources in Lovedale and Pokolbin, with light clay loam at the former and red volcanic clay and basalt at the latter. The same review records fourteen months in French oak, with 20% new barrels.
