Champagne Stéphane Regnault, Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 'Chromatique' NV (T22)
The most open and immediately approachable of Stéphane Regnault’s Champagnes, bringing together Chardonnay from his Grand Cru parcels in Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. White blossom, lemon zest and fresh orchard fruit lead into chalk, warm brioche and a touch of toasted sourdough. There’s generosity through the middle, but plenty of tension underneath, finishing bright, mineral and gently saline. This is super approachable, dangerously drinkable and Stéphane's best release of the 'Chromatique' so far.
Chromatique T22 is 100% Chardonnay, blended from several Grand Cru parcels across Le Mesnil sur Oger and Oger. The wine is composed of 65% from the 2019 vintage and 35% reserve wine, fermented with native yeasts before extended ageing on lees. Rather than expressing a single vineyard, Chromatique showcases the breadth of Stéphane Regnault's holdings, combining the intense chalk of Le Mesnil with the slightly richer soils of Oger to create a Champagne that is both generous and beautifully balanced. The vineyards are farmed without synthetic pesticides, using natural cover crops, herbal preparations and lunar farming principles.

Stéphane Regnault, a true Renaissance man, shifted from aerospace engineering to sommelier roles in vibrant London and Paris. In 2007, he took over his family’s vineyards in Le Mesnil sur Oger. Crafting Champagne exclusively from his 4 hectares of certified organic and biodynamic vineyards on the prestigious Côtes des Blancs, Stéphane uses only grapes he meticulously tends himself. An inspired young winemaker and avid jazz saxophonist, Stéphane names his cuvées after jazz modes—ancient musical scales that resonate with the character of his wines. His innovative winemaking approach involves creating a trilogy of site-specific cuvées, each enriched with a perpetual reserve. This tradition began with his debut vintage in 2014.
