Pure Savagnin from the west-facing Sur Lya vineyard, where limestone scree sits over deep grey marl. Tightly wound and intensely mineral, with preserved lemon, green walnut, dried flowers, curry leaf and crushed stone. More linear and incisive than the Sous Roche, with mouth-watering acidity and a powerful, chalky finish that runs long with salt, spice and citrus peel. A serious Vin Jaune that will continue to develop for decades, though it benefits from a good decant now.
